ARBUTHNOT HALL, SHAMLEY GREEN
The Arbuthnot Hall is a thriving community facility, located on
the Green at the heart of Shamley Green. It is available for hire with a main hall,
stage, committee room, fully equipped kitchen/bar and disabled access. For

2021 Christmas Events were very successful
1st Dec, Switch Lights on; 6th - 8th Dec, Wreath Making Classes;
9th Dec, Carols on the Green;
11th Dec, Christmas Concert.
The Arbuthnot Hall Committee
run the Hall on behalf of the Village.

History
The Hall, opened in 1905, was commissioned by Elinor Arbuthnot and given to the Village
in memory of her second husband, Forster Fitzgerald Arbuthnot. Her portrait is hanging in the Hall,
Elinor and Forster Fitzgerald are buried at Christ Church in Shamley Green.
The Hall itself is the original building by a renowned Arts & Crafts architect Charles Harrison Townsend.
